The Leeds Vampyre Group is a society for anyone in an interest in vampyric things and all things gothic and strange.

This is a brand new group formed from encounters with the London Vampyre Group-hoping to build a partnership with them.

We felt why should that there London have all the fun?- so here we are!

It is our intention to hold some gigs and events starting 2010 in Leeds, i hope we can spark some interest and will gladly welcome anyone wanting to get involved onboard.

John Merrick's Remains @ The Primrose 13th Feb 2010

It was good to see the Merrick's again and on top form - a great set too including three new songs from their forthcoming album.

It all began for John Merrick's Remains in 2004 when Bob and Jools went into the studio to record their debut single for Dmp records. The single entitled Slapper gained good reviews and prompted the label to offer the band a one off album deal. The duo went into the studio with producer Andy Littlewood and recorded their debut album 'Digging up the Remains" and started gigging in and around the South Yorkshire area.The live following started to grow and people were asking if any new songs were on the horizon.The band were busy writing and recording new material and both Bob and Jools realised that the new material was far better than on their debut album.

April 2008 saw the release of their second album simply entitled John Merrick's Remains and featuring the tracks Leatherface , Breathe , Hollow Man and Dear John (my fave).
